Summer Solstice Nature Journaling — June 19

June, 2021 Tagged With: Cool Spring Nature Preserve, nature journaling

an open page in a nature journal below a collection of colored pencils and othe craft materials used for sketching.

In celebration of the Summer Solstice weekend, join Carolyn Duckworth at Cool Springs Preserve for a learning session on journaling. Carolyn has been keeping nature journals for decades, from Yellowstone to Harpers Ferry, and will share techniques and exercises, in both words and images, to inspire our nature journal habits. Any level of experience is welcome. Participants must bring their own ‘tools’ – pencil(s), notebook/paper (field journal if you have one), and a portable chair – and an open mind to trying new materials and techniques. If you have nature journals that you have created, bring them along to share as inspiration.

June 19 (Sat), 9:00 am – noon. Field Journaling Guides: Carolyn Duckworth & Joy Bridy.

Free, but pre-registration required (limited to 10 participants).

Find more information and pre-register online at the Potomac Valley Audubon Society website.
