In addition to the candidates for federal office, the voters in Jefferson County will have a say in electing candidates for multiple state and local offices in 2024.
In May, voters will elect local school board, magistrates, judges, and justices. These races are decided along side the primary elections to choose candidates who will run in the November for county commissioner, assessor, sheriff, prosecuting attorney, surveyor, the House of Delegates, the State Senate, and the various state officers.
The window for filing as a party-affiliated candidate for for state and local offices begins on January 8, 2024 and closes at midnight on January 27 2024. The Observer will use this page to post links to our election coverage.
