Celebrate the magic of ‘firefly season’ with an evening firefly walk at Cool Spring Preserve with Ariel Firebaugh, Director of Scientific Engagement at Blandy Experimental Farm, a UVA research facility and arboretum located near Winchester, VA. Stroll along the trails of the preserve and learn why fireflies flash, what they eat, and other fun facts about this species. An easy hike along trails, but participants should bring a flashlight and be prepared (if you choose) to walk through high grass and woods.
Saturday, June 26 (Sat), 8:15 – 10:00 pm at Cool Spring Preserve.
Free, but pre-registration required (limited to 14 participants).
Find more information and pre-register online at the Potomac Valley Audubon Society website.
