The WVU Extension Master Gardener Class is a hands-on program that covers topics such as soil health, botany, pest identification & management, weeds, trees, and fruits & vegetables. The class is the first step to obtaining master gardener certification. In addition to the educational benefits, the program offers serious gardeners the opportunity to connect with other like-minded individuals and share knowledge with the community. The class will be held in-person at the WVU Tree Fruit Research and Education Center (67 Apple Harvest Drive, Kearneysville).

Sessions are Monday afternoons from Noon to 4 pm, beginning August 9 and ending November 8. Call the Berkeley County Extension Office at 304-263-1936 or the Jefferson office at 304-728-7413 for application and registration information. Course fee is $100 (includes a notebook filled with gardening knowledge).
