Jefferson County residents will vote to fill two seats on the County Commission in 2022. All voters can cast a ballot for both seats (the candidate residency requirement ensures that all magisterial districts of the county are represented on the County Commission).

For the Shepherdstown district seat, there are 2 candidates (voters pick 1):

John Doyle — or — Jennifer Krouse

For the Charles Town district seat, there are 3 candidates (voters pick 1):

Clare Anne Ath — or — Dale Manuel — or — David Tabb

The Commission is responsible for overseeing the budget of all county offices (except judges) and setting property tax rates. The Commission also appoints members of various commissions and boards, including the Planning and Zoning Commission which has jurisdiction over land use and development in the county. Each Commissioner is elected for a six year term.
