The focus is pretty simple at Advocate Insurance Group: finding a plan with coverage and rates that works best for you.

Jodi Pope joined the Advocate team two years ago when she became an insurance agent. “(They) knew I was looking for a change in career and guided me through the ins and outs of the insurance industry, making it a very smooth transition,” she explained.

Established in 2008, and located in Martinsburg, Advocate is part of the Erie Insurance Agency, one of West Virginia’s largest insurance providers. Advocate strives to match clients with the insurance plan that offers the best coverage and rate—offering Auto, Home, Business, Workers Compensation, Life, and Health insurance, as well as Aflac.

Pope has been making people a priority in her life for a long time. “I’ve always had a very customer-service-driven focus throughout my career, which is an important factor people look for when procuring insurance,” she affirmed. “It felt like a natural next step in my professional life.”

Pope grew up in Falling Waters and went to Shepherd University, and she and her husband moved their family to Shepherdstown in 2009. “Living here, loving the community and the familiarity of the area and people, made the Eastern Panhandle the ideal location for me to start a new profession. Insurance is a promise that Erie offers, and I want to help people that I know and love protect their assets and their families.”

Pope is licensed in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania for personal lines insurance and commercial insurance. Personal lines insurance includes home, auto, personal catastrophe, and life insurance, and she also provides coverage for a wide range of businesses.

“Our agency is a family focused atmosphere, which reflects in how we work with our clients. There are a lot of ways to purchase insurance these days, so we focus on the personal touch,” she explained. “When an emergency happens, we want to be the ones you call, so we can help you through the situation, not an eight-hundred number.”
